A Cyber-Resilient Control Scheme for AGC of Hydropower System
A cyberattack is designed to destabilize a system connected through a communication network. While ongoing research focuses on attack detection algorithms, it is crucial to have a robust control mechanism in place to address the possibility of undiscovered security compromise events persisting for a significant duration. Resiliency is particularly important for a controller engaged in automated generation control (AGC), since it must be able to function effectively even in abnormal conditions, without the option of shutting down operations. This research presents a novel method to assist hydrothermal power systems in dealing with network-related obstacles such as communication latency (CL) and attacks. We present a novel tri-parametric fractional controller (TFC) that combines the benefits of proportional-integral and proportional-derivative operations. This eliminates the requirement for extra control loops. The resiliency of suggested TFC is illustrated by performing simulation studies on benchmark attack models.
