Analysis of the Correlation Between Axial Force and Movement of a Rotor Magnet in a Four-Layered Stack Structured Permanent Magnet Bearing Using the Finite Element Method

The study focuses on the design and performance evaluation of a passive magnetic bearing system for horizontal rotation, utilizing repulsive magnetic technology. This involves designing and analyzing the performance of the permanent magnet (PM) bearing system intended to rotate on a horizontal axis. The proposed PM bearing is based on passive magnetic technology, and its performance is evaluated by using both analytical solution and finite element analysis. The results indicate that the maximum force is experienced by the rotor magnet at specific axial movements, with minimal force at the origin position. The force varies with radial movement and stack height, with greater stack heights resulting in increased force. The polynomial equations provide a mathematical model for predicting axial force based upon axial movement, aiding in control and understanding of nonlinear dynamics. Understanding these relationships is crucial for designing flexible and optimized bearings.
