Secondary Side Control of Multi-Vehicle Inductive Charger by Using a Semi-Active Bridge Rectifier for Constant Power

This paper proposes a Multi-vehicle (MV) Inductive Charger (IC). It uses a multileg-inverter instead of a single-phase full-wave inverter to charge multiple vehicles concurrently and individually according to their SOC conditions without cross-regulation. In the literature, constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) are very familiar methods of EV charging. A new method of constant power (CP) followed by CV is used in this article to charge the multi-vehicle system. A CP method helps to achieve fast charging for the vehicle and reduces the battery's thermal problem. A semi-active rectifier (SAR) is used in the secondary side to control the voltage and current to achieve constant power. It also helps in impedance matching for maximum efficiency. A MATLAB simulation has been performed for the multi-vehicle Inductive Charger system to verify the result.
