Simultaneous Automatic Synthesis of 2- DOF QFT for Unstable Maglev system

This paper focuses on the position control of Unstable Magnetic levitation (Maglev) systems using Quantitative Feedback Theory (QFT) approach. The robust QFT controller and prefilter are obtained using enhanced simultaneous automatic synthesis (SAS). The proposed SAS design stabilizes the levitation of the steel ball in the air, precisely tracking the position of the ball in the presence of the system uncertainty. The simulation results is analysed and compared with the controllers in the literature like LQR-PID-Feed forward (FF), PIV-FF controllers, fractional-order enhanced model reference adaptive controller (FOEMRAC). The superiority of the proposed SAS design is shown by the better tracking performance and less controller effort.
