Optimized Power Quality Using Integrated Current and Voltage PFC for Energy Storage Application

The integration of Power Factor Correction (PFC) techniques in DC-DC converters addresses critical efficiency and power quality issues in modern electronic systems. This paper a combined current and voltage control PFC technique is implemented to a novel buck topology with single inductor double capacitor buck configuration for energy storage applications. By employing a double capacitor network, efficient power transfer to the load is achieved through a single inductor, resulting in a gain ratio of 0.5D. The proposed converter's detailed steady-state analysis is thoroughly discussed. Also, the power factor and reduce harmonic distortion in the input current, is validated using the combined current and voltage control PFC technique. This approach significantly improves overall energy efficiency and power quality, making the converter highly suitable for energy storage applications. The simulation model has been created using MATLAB/Simulink, and the results obtained from the simulations confirm the effectiveness of the proposed topology and control approach.
