Comprehensive Analysis of Grid Synchronization Enhancement in DFIG-Driven Wind System

The inherent variability of wind significantly impacts grid stability and diminishes power quality. Therefore, an enhanced control strategy is needed for grid-integrated DFIG-driven WES. The MSC utilizes an off-MPPT control mechanism to adhere to ESS limits, ensuring consistent power delivery to the grid under wind fluctuation. The ESS is incorporated across DC-link through BDC, facilitating charging, and discharging in alignment with system requirements during wind variation. It enables power smoothing and balancing, even with stochastic wind speed variation. Additionally, an Enhanced phase-locked loop control for the grid-integrated DFIG-driven WES, reduces DC offset, allowing both MSC, and GSC to operate efficiently despite various grid disturbances. The effectiveness of the presented PLL over conventional PLL is also presented. Furthermore, the proposed approach has been validated through tests conducted under sudden wind variations as well as different wind speeds. Additionally, outcomes confirm satisfactory system performance amidst sudden wind variability and grid disturbances.
