Dual Switch Switched Inductor-Capacitor Network-Based High Gain DC-DC Converter with Reduced Switch Current Stress and Continuous Input Current

In power electronics, achieving efficient and reliable DC voltage conversion from renewable energy systems is essential for various applications including portable electronic devices. This paper presents a novel Dual Switch Switched Inductor-Capacitor Network-based (DSSLCN) high-gain DC-DC converter topology that ensures continuous input current while reducing current stress through the switches. The proposed converter, comprising two inductors, three capacitors, three diodes, and two switches, achieves significant voltage gain and minimizes component current stress by operating with synchronized duty ratios for both switches. Theoretical analyses, including steady- state operation and parasitic effects, have been performed to derive an output voltage equation accounting for component characteristics. A hardware prototype of 400 V 200 W, 50 kHz, has been built, and the theoretical calculations are validated using the experimental results.
