A Compact Low Cost and High Efficiency Switched-Capacitor Boost Multilevel Inverter
Switched capacitor multilevel inverters (SC-MLls) are highly popular for their ability to produce high-quality output voltage with less total harmonic distortion (THD). The main feature of this topology is that it require a low number of power switches (seven switches) compared to the existing 5-level inverter topologies. Apart from the dual voltage gain, self-voltage balancing of capacitor voltage without any auxiliary control technique along with reduced voltage stress has been the main advantages of this topology. A comparative assessment of the recent published topologies with the proposed SC-MLI inverter is presented to emphasize the features of the proposed inverter. Finaly, The experimental results are obtained from a 1.0kW prototype setup. The proposed topology tested under various modulation index and load conditions.
