Double Boost Switched Capacitor Multi-Level Inverter with Modified PWM Control
Switched capacitor-based multilevel inverters (MLIs) are increasingly appealing for renewable energy technologies because of their effective voltage amplification capabilities. The Double Boost Switched Capacitor (DBSC) approach attains the necessary voltage levels with less dependence on several DC sources by using capacitor voltage multiplication. Creating a high-gain MLI with a reduced number of components, such as fewer DC sources and switches, is a considerable technical challenge. This research presents an innovative nine-level inverter architecture using the DBSC principle, which substantially reduces the component count. The suggested architecture requires a single DC source, eight switches, and two capacitors to provide nine unique output voltage levels. The advanced inverter exhibits exceptional performance by producing high-quality voltage waveforms across diverse operating situations, enabled by an enhanced Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) approach. The Variable Frequency Alternate Phase Opposition and Disposition PWM (VFAPODPWM) method is used to improve operating efficiency. Extensive simulation evaluations are performed using MATLAB/Simulink to verify the efficacy of the suggested design.
