Centro Ecuménico de Córdoba

The article examines the Centro Ecuménico Cristiano de Córdoba (CECC). Founded in 1973, it was a christian-ecumenical space for dialogue, theological education, and intervention in the public arena of Córdoba, in the face of growing socio-economic deterioration and political violence throughout the country. Its approach is relevant to provide substantive knowledge about a subject previously unexplored in academic literature and to shed light on other forms of evangelical expression in the public sphere in recent history. The work is divided into three parts: the context and groups that were part of the origins of CECC are considered; it’s institutional conformation is describedobserving a local and international network of ecumenical organizations that gave structure to the emerging formation, and finally, the mode of organization and the religious ethics deployed in the activities promoted are addressed. The article includes a corpus of interviews conducted with former members of the CECC, information from the magazine Tiempo Latinoamericano and relevant academic and confessional bibliography.
