LAYANAN DAN FASILITAS PERPUSTAKAAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN MINAT BACA SISWA (STUDI KASUS SMA LTI IGM PALEMBANG)

This study aims to investigate the impact of library services and facilities on reading interest among SMA LTI IGM Palembang students.The decline in reading interest among young people is a pressing concern worldwide. In this study, the library's role in promoting reading interest is explored, focusing on the services and facilities provided by the school library. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods. The results show that the library's services and facilities, such as book collections, online databases, and reading programs, have a significant impact on students' reading interest. Specifically, the availability of books and online resources, as well as the library's promotion of reading activities, were found to be positively correlated with students' reading frequency and motivation. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of creating a comfortable and welcoming library environment, as well as providing adequate support from librarians and teachers, to foster a love for reading among students. The findings of this study have implications for educational policymakers, librarians, and educators who seek to promote reading interest among students and enhance their overall academic performance.
