MODERN TECHNOLOGY IN GENETIC TRANSFORMATION FOR PLANTS
Plant genetic transformation can be used to increase plant quality, productivity, and tolerance to biotic and abiotic stress. Many established Strategies for genetic transformation are available for stably novel genes to the nuclear genomes of various types of plants. But even with many years of technical progress, many species still struggle with effective plant transformation and regeneration. The two essential components of plant genetic transformation are transgenic plant regeneration and biomolecule delivery.Plant cells can receive exogenous genes by many mediated delivery techniques such as Agrobacterium, electroporation, particle bombardment/gene cannon, pollen tube route, and others.Yet there are a number of problems with these approaches. For instance, the species genotype and explant reliance of Agrobacterium-mediated administration are constraints.Delivery via particle bombardment frequently causes damaged plant tissue and chaotic DNA integration processes, rendering regeneration futile.Utilizing nanomaterials to transport biomolecules has piqued the interest of researchers more recently. These nanoparticles have the ability to independently penetrate plant cells, varies between dicots and monocots.Nanoparticlemediated transport has several advantages over conventional gene delivery techniques, including the capacity to directly permeate biomembranes, protect and release numerous payloads, and provide multidimensional targeting through chemical and physical tenability.
