EFFECT OF CHANGING RIB TEMPERATURE ON HEAT TRANSFER AND FLOW BEHAVIOR IN TWO-PASS RIBBED CHANNELS
In this paper, a numerical and experimental study was built to investigate the effect of changing rib surface temperature (Trib) inside a two-pass channel on heat transfer and flow behavior in presence of two-phase flow. The temperature rib surfaces used (50,60,70) C.Twophase flow was air-water and its properties assumed to be constant 27 C under while Reynolds numbers 72456.3-116031.4and for three phase flow about 161505.2-177871.2.Simulations carried out by solving the equations: continuity, momentum, energy with turbulence (standard k-) model after building a model in ANSYS 2021 R1 software. The heat transfer enhancement, velocity distribution, pressure along channel and temperature distribution are investigated. The results showed the ribbed region described as fluctuant and cleared the increased TRib lead to enhance heat transfer because the heat transfer rate increased, the increasing percentage from 50C to 60C are about (2.597%-2.67),but for increased from 60C to 70C are (2.54%-2.6%)at constant mixture flowrates. While for three phase flow, the increasing percentage from 50C to 60C are about (3.763%-2.67),but for increased from 60C to 70C are (3.983%-2.6%)and for increased 50C to 70C are (6.752%) at constant mixture flowrates.
