THE EFFECT OF ALCOHOLIC AND NANO EXTRACTS OF JUJUBE LEAVES ON THE MORTALITY PECENTAGES OF THE FIRST AND FOURTH LARVAL INSTAR OF THE DATE MOTH EPHESTIA CAUTELLA (LEPIDOPTERA: PYRALIDAE)

This study was conducted in the Advanced Insect Laboratory at the College of Education for Girls in the year 2023-2024 to evaluate the efficiency of the alcoholic and nano extracts of jujube leaves in mortality percentages of first and fourth instar larvae of the date moth. The laboratory results indicated the importance and efficiency of the alcoholic and nano extracts which cause high mortality percentages of date moth larvae. There was a direct relationship between the extracts concentrations and the mortality percentages in the first and fourth larval instar. The highest mortality percentages were 100% in the first and fourth instars when treated with the alcoholic extract at a concentration of 250 mg / ml and after 24 hours of treatment. The results showed that the total mortality percentage in the first instar larvae (43.3, 100, 100 and 100)% were relatively higher than the mortality percentage of the fourth instar larvae (36.7, 96.7, 100 and 100)% in All concentrations used in the experiment.
