DETECTION OF MICROORGANISMS USING MOLECULAR TECHNIQUES
The use of molecular biology methods in detection and description of microbial test has helped to cause a revolution in diagnostic microbiology to be part of routine screening of specimen samples.Polymerase chain reaction techniques in particular, PCR have probably been one of the main revolutions in microbiology and everybody in microbiology now can quickly identify microbes that were not possible to be identified ten or even five years ago.Besides, molecular technology has helped in early determination of diseases that are of concern to the entire public alongside determination of precise microbes. The molecular diagnostic methods have gone beyond identification of goal and embraces AMR genes identification and public health characterizations like straining by genotyping. The improvement of treatment of specific microorganisms has been done through assessing of viral resistance and viral load testing which are useful components in measuring the effectiveness of the antiviral drugs. The decline in cost of molecular techniques resulting from improvements of multiplex PCR, real time PCR and additional automation advances will further increase the importance of the molecular methodologies.
