Desarrollo del pensamiento crítico en estudiantes a través de la alfabetización informacional

Critical thinking is an essential competency in 21st century education, as it enables students to analyze and evaluate information in a rigorous manner. In an environment characterized by the overabundance of digital data, information literacy stands as a key strategy to strengthen these skills. The present study aims to analyze the impact of information literacy on the development of critical thinking in students through a review of the academic literature. An exploratory approach based on documentary analysis is adopted, selecting recent studies indexed in scientific databases. The results indicate that information literacy improves the ability to analyze and evaluate sources, strengthens argumentation, reduces dependence on unverified information and promotes autonomous learning. Likewise, effective pedagogical strategies are identified, such as problem-based learning, the use of digital tools, teacher training and the design of comprehensive curricular programs. It is concluded that information literacy is an indispensable tool for critical thinking and should be integrated transversally in educational systems to ensure a solid training in information management and informed decision making.
