The Problem of Criminology Analysis of a Minor Who Uses Drugs

The article analyzes the problems of the spread of drug addiction, in particular, drug addiction among minors in Ukraine at the present stage. Accordingly, the consequences of drug use (psychosocial and medical) are analyzed. The relationship between drug use and crime in general is also traced. Attention is paid to the special features of the consequences of drug use by minors. Special attention is paid to the problem of victimization of persons who allow non-medical use of drugs. It is stated that drug addiction is a negative social phenomenon that causes a significant decrease in the social status of especially young people and this is ambiguously reflected in the levels of development of society, especially in today’s difficult period for Ukraine. The main reasons for the spread of drug addiction among minors in Ukraine are stated: crisis manifestations in society in connection with Russian aggression, improvement of the socio-economic and socio-psychological state of a number of population groups, low level of upbringing in the family, crisis of school and vocational education, increase in unemployment during martial law, confirmation of state programs for organizing leisure time for minors, significant migration processes during martial law. and loss of parents due to war and, as a result, neglect of minors and the emergence of social orphanhood in society. It is stated that drug addiction as a social problem carries negative, social studies: deaths from overdose, increased risks of suicidal phenomena, risks of developing mental illnesses, cardiovascular complications, complications complications. Effective measures are indicated to counteract the spread of drug addiction, in particular, drug addiction among minors by increasing the efficiency of the police and juvenile justice.
