Optimizing the Marine Transportation Model for a New Deepwater Offshore Platform at Working Area of Andaman II
Abstract According to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Indonesia has been facing the declining of oil and gas reserves capacity. In 2016, gas reserves were 144.72 TSCF while in 2020 it was only 62.39 TSCF. Around 60-70% of potential new gas fields have not been explored. Thus, the construction of new offshore platforms is needed to increase national natural gas reserves. The working area of Andaman II was chosen because it has the highest estimated gas reserves of 2,025 MBOE with a depth of 1,291.3 m. Therefore, this study aims to plan the delivery method of offshore platforms that produce minimum total transportation costs by using assignment problem method. The type of new offshore platform in Andaman II is the Tension Leg Platform (TLP) which consists of tension, hull, topside, and riser. The optimization result shows that the delivery method to build the new offshore platform is the hull and topside shipped simultaneously.
