New Version of Inverse Lindley Distribution and its Properties and Applications

The inverse Lindley distribution has been generalized by many authors in recent years. Here, we introduce a new generalization called modified alpha power transformed inverse Lindley (MAPTIL) distribution that provides better fits than the inverse Lindley distribution and some of its known distributions. Various probability properties of the proposed distribution, including hazard rate function, moments, conditional moments, mean residual lifetime, entropy, stress strength model and order statistics are derived. The unknown parameters of the proposed distribution are estimated by the maximum likelihood estimation method. A simulation study is carried out to examine the mean square error and bias of maximum likelihood estimators. Finally, two applications data are utilized to illustrate the model’s flexibility.
