CONSTRUCTION METAPHORICAL TERMS SPHERES

Abstract. The article deals with the construction terms-metaphors. The cognitive nature of metaphor is man-ifested in metaphorical terms in the order of their formation: the terms under consideration are created due to associations and search for similarities between phenomena of different spheres, transfer is carried out ac-cording to the principle of similarity. The appearance of metaphorical terms in the conceptual apparatus of construction terminology reveals the potential for further term derivation. Appeal to metaphorical transfer in the creation of terms allows creating new terminological fields in term-systems. The source spheres are numer-ous, and this reflects the systematic nature of people's thinking, the interpenetration of their content, expressed in associations peculiar to the lexical system of the language. The most productive source spheres in construc-tion terminology are identified: nature, everyday objects, physics. The article analyses examples of using meta-phorical terms related to such subject areas as biology and anatomy, human activity, technology, weapons, clothes, music, cooking.
