THE SEMANTIC FEATURES OF THE CONCEPT OF «MASCULINITY» IN ENGLISH PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS
. The article examines phraseological units associated with the concept of «masculinity» in the English lan-guage, which is relevant for understanding gender stereotypes and their representation in language. The pur-pose of the study is to analyze phraseological units that convey the concept of masculinity and to assess their role in shaping gender norms. The methods used include semantic-cognitive analysis and the classification of phraseological units by aspects such as traits of character and behavior, social status and lifestyle, physical strength and endurance, emotional resilience, evaluation of behavior, cultural and historical allusions, and slang expressions. The results of the study revealed that phraseological units with the concept of «masculinity» in the English language encompass both positive and negative evaluations, indicating the complexity and ambiguity of ste-reotypes related to male behavior. At the same time, it was found that modern slang expressions used by young-er generations deviate from strongly pronounced masculinity, becoming more neutral and inclusive. The prospects for further research lie in comparing gender-related phraseological units across different languages and analyzing their role in intercultural communication.
