COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT OF ACUTE ENDOMETRITIS IN COWS
Diseases of the reproductive organs of cows are an important factor in reducing intensive dairy cattle breeding. Animal infertility caused by endometritis results in significant economic losses to livestock farms, including decreased milk yield, poor milk quality, treatment and feed costs, fewer calves, and premature culling and death of animals. The general principle of clinical treatment of endometritis is to reduce the number of pathogenic bacteria and enhance the protective and reparative mechanisms of the uterus to ensure female fertility. Prevention of uterine diseases is an important task for maintaining reproductive health and increasing herd reproduction in dairy cattle breeding. The research found that the peak of endometritis is recorded from December to February, while the disease was detected in an average of 3.4 % of cows over the past two years (2022–2023): 14 heads (4.2 %) in 2022, and 8 cows (2.6 %) in 2023. The largest number of cases of the disease was recorded in cows with the third and fourth calving. The therapeutic effectiveness of both methods of treatment of acute postpartum endometritis was 100 %. Complex treatment with Viapen, Oxytocin and Vitam (group 2) has good therapeutic efficacy: by the fifth day, discharge from the external genitalia stopped, appetite appeared and the general condition of the animals improved. The complex use of antibacterial drugs Nitok 200, Oxytocin, Iodopene and Vitam (group 1) has a high therapeutic efficacy: by the third day, the release of exudate from the external genitalia stopped, the temperature returned to normal (t 38.5 °C), appetite appeared and the general condition of the animals improved.
