EFFECTIVENESS OF USING THE PROBIOTIC IN FEEDING AFRICAN CLARIID CATFISH (CLARIAS HARIEPINUS, BURCHELL, 1822)
The effectiveness of growing African clariid catfish (Clarias gariepinus) using the probiotic additive «Enzymsporin» in the amount of 1 g per 1 kg of feed was studied as a result of the conducted research. The absolute increase in ichthyomass of one fish during the period of feeding the probiotic was 86.0 ± 6.5 g for aquatic organisms in the control group and 112.18 ± 8.0 g for fish in the experimental group (P ≤ 0.05). The highest growth rate was observed in catfish that consumed food with a probiotic additive, as demonstrated by the average daily gain and mass accumulation coefficient in the experimental variant. The average daily gain during the growing period was higher for catfish in the experimental group – 1.86 ± 0,3 g, which is 0.43 g higher compared to individuals in the control group. The body condition coefficient of catfish ranged from 1.06 to 1.08. The rather low value of this indicator is associated with the high degree of lethality of the object of study. Significant differences in the biochemical parameters of the muscle tissue of fish grown using a probiotic drug compared to individuals from the control group indicate a positive effect of the probiotic on the metabolism of fish from the experimental group
