Spatio-Temporal Dynamics of Land Use Change in Jaipur District: A Geospatial Approach
Understanding the dynamics of land use change is essential for sustainable development and effective urban planning. Jaipur district has witnessed significant land use transformations over the past few decades due to rapid urbanization, population growth, economic expansion, and climatic variations. This study employs remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques to analyze spatio-temporal land use changes in the region, providing a comprehensive assessment of shifting land patterns and their implications. The research investigates key factors driving land use transformations, including the encroachment of urban infrastructure into agricultural and forested areas, changes in industrial land use, and the expansion of built-up areas. By utilizing multi-temporal satellite imagery and advanced GIS analytics, this study quantifies the extent and rate of land conversion, offering valuable insights into landscape dynamics. Additionally, the study evaluates the environmental consequences of urban expansion on natural ecosystems, water bodies, and agricultural productivity. The findings emphasize the critical need for sustainable land management strategies to balance urban growth with ecological conservation. The results serve as a valuable resource for urban planners, policymakers, and environmental researchers in formulating data-driven policies aimed at mitigating adverse land use impacts. This research underscores the importance of integrating geospatial technologies in monitoring and managing land use changes for long-term regional sustainability.
