STUDY OF ANTHELMINTIC, LARVICIDAL AND TOXIC PROPERTIES OF SOME SUBSTITUTED AZAHETEROCYCLES

The search for new agents with anthelmintic and larvicidal types of action is so relevant due to the frequent appear of resistance of helminths and larvae to the main drugs used due to significant and, in some cases, uncontrollable use or the development of resistance to entire classes of drugs due to their common chemical structure. In this search for new agents, we are performed study of aza-heterocyclic compounds of various structures, obtained experimental data reflecting the expression of anthelmintic and larvicidal activities. The study of the effect of compounds on helminths was carried out using Dandrobaena veneta worms in comparison with the standard drug, levamisole. Larvicidal activity was assessed on chiromonid larvae (Diptera, Chironomidae) in comparison with the drug imidacloprid. The degree of acute toxicity of the compounds was established on white mice with per os administration. The results of the studies showed that 4 compounds have larvicidal activity as the level of the comparison drug, 3 compounds have anthelmintic action as the level of the standard used. The data were obtained reveals low toxicity of the all studied compounds. In general, the results are allowed us to state the high value of new potential agents, while some features of the final result are should be noted separately. The studied compounds do not have significant structural similarity with the most common anthelmintic and larvicidal drugs, which can potentially complicate the development of resistance of target species. It is also worth noting that individual leading substances are many times superior to comparison drugs in terms of the effective dose. Given these circumstances, the authors' team successfully patented one of the compounds in the field of application as an anthelmintic and larvicidal agent.

Abstract

The search for new agents with anthelmintic and larvicidal types of action is so relevant due to the frequent appear of resistance of helminths and larvae to the main drugs used due to significant and, in some cases, uncontrollable use or the development of resistance to entire classes of drugs due to their common chemical structure.
