MOLECULAR EVALUATION OF LAWSONIA INERMIS ACTIVITY AGAINST PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA ISOLATED FROM WOUNDS INFECTION
Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P.aeruginosa) is an opportunistic Gram-negative pathogen that causes a wide range of infections like cystic fibrosis , burn and wound also is a serious cause of nosocomial infections. In order to isolate (P.aeruginosa), 30 samples were collected from different hospitals in Mosul city.Bacterial isolates were identified according to morphological, cultural, and biochemical tests and then confirmed by theVITEK-2 identification system The study was aimed to determine the efficiency of the alcoholic extract of Lawsonia inermis leaves in inhibiting the growth of P. aeruginosa bacteria, the extract was tested by using agar diffusion method at four concentrations (0.125, 0.5, 0.75, 1) mg/ml.After studying the inhibitory activity of the alcoholic extract of the plant against selected bacterial isolates, it appears that the maximum diameter of the inhibition zone was (25)mm at 1mg/ml concertation, while the minimum diameter was (6) mm at a concentration of (0.5) mg/ml.The presence of blaIMP "metallo-beta-lactamase gene" was detected in P. aeruginosa isolates by using the Real-time Polymerase chain reaction, also the genomic expression of blaIMP was calculated after adding of alcoholic extract of L. inermis, the genomic expression of the blaIMP gene decreases as the concentration of the plant extract increase, these activate due to the
