Features of preparation for the Unified National Testing in Computer Science

In the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Unified National Testing is one of the key indicators for assessing the quality of general secondary education. To achieve high test results, students require quality preparation. A student must master theoretical knowledge and apply it in practice. In this regard, methods and techniques for preparing students need to be updated. The results determine the level of knowledge acquired by graduates in core and elective subjects. The system has been continuously improved. One update includes introducing the “Mathematics-Informatics” combination for admission to Information Technology programs. One way to develop information technology is through training qualified specialists. Preparation for the Unified National Testing in Informatics in secondary schools is based on ensuring the subject’s theoretical content. The results serve as a clear indicator of a graduate's preparation. This requires mastering effective preparation methods. This article provides a comparative analysis of international practices in teaching informatics and the specifics of Kazakhstan’s education system. It examines key aspects of developing and selecting topics and question sets for the Unified National Testing in Informatics.
