STUDY OF THE PHYSICOCHEMICAL PROCESSES IN WOOD-BASED BUILDING MATERIALS UNDER EXPOSURE TO RADIANT HEAT FLUX
The paper presents the results of experimental infrared thermographic studies on the thermal impact of radiant heat flow on some wood-containing building materials (particleboard, oriented strand board, plywood), including the use of fire-protective compounds. Thermograms and temperature profiles across the thickness of the samples are provided. The temperatures at the onset of endothermic and exothermic reactions inside the material, the depth of the exothermic reaction zone, and its propagation rate were determined. The experimental data offer insight into the physical and chemical processes occurring on the end surface of the studied building materials when exposed to radiant heat flow from a fire front, as well as the influence of fire-protective compounds on the fire resistance of structures.
