Analysis of the effect of fertilization with biomass of selected aquatic algae on soil sorption parameters
The use of algae to fertilize soils and improve the properties of the sorption complex is not yet a technique used on a large scale. In this paper, an attempt was made to analyze the effect of fertilization with selected algal biomass on some physical and chemical properties of soil. Sandy soil was used for fertilization, with algal biomass applied at doses of 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2 %. The study was conducted over a three-year period. After each growing season, selected sorption properties of the soil, the volume of the obtained biomass, and the bioaccumulation of heavy metals in plants were analyzed.
