Rasch Model Analysis in Developing Mathematical Belief Measurement Instruments for Prospective Mathematics Teachers
The study aimed to develop a scale for measuring student-teacher beliefs in mathematics. The model used was a design research approach, specifically a development study. This consisted of three phases: the initial investigation phase, the prototype phase, and the assessment phase. The initial investigation phase involved observing students’ and teachers’ prior knowledge and analyzing the concept of beliefs in mathematics. In the prototype phase, the researcher designed the grid and scale for measuring student-teacher beliefs in mathematics. Finally, in the assessment phase, expert validation and testing of the student-teacher belief scale in mathematics were carried out. . The study used the Rasch Model for data analysis. The results show that the scale of student-teacher beliefs in mathematics is both valid and reliable. However, while the quality of the items in the belief scale was good, the consistency of the respondents’ answers was weak.
