A novel composite material capable of strong electric field self-recognition

Defects may arise in electrical equipment during production and operation, with one of the early characteristics of such defects being an abnormal increase in localized field strength. Therefore, measuring the electric field distribution of electrical equipment can enable fault diagnosis. Most existing electric field measurement devices are intrusive, inevitably introducing measurement errors during the process. In this study, a composite material capable of luminescence under high electric field strength was developed. A high-field environment was simulated using needle-plate electrodes, and the relationship between the luminescence intensity of the composite material and the applied voltage was investigated. The results provide optimization directions for the practical application of this material.
