A SO-FDTD Scheme for Transmission Characteristics of Dielectric-Embedded Multilayer Metal Meshes

Aiming at the problem that the calculation and analysis of the transmission characteristics of multiscale complex structures containing dielectric-embedded multilayer metal meshes need to consume a lot of computational time and resources, a shift operator-FDTD scheme for calculating the wide-band transmission characteristics of dielectric-embedded multilayer metal meshes is proposed. In this letter, the dielectric-embedded multilayer metal mesh structure in the complex structures is equivalent to a single-layer dispersive medium, eliminating the internal fine structure and avoiding the multiscale problem. Therefore, a coarser grid can deal with the transmission characteristics of complex structures containing dielectric-embedded multilayer metal meshes. The numerical results show that the equivalent scheme for the dielectric cavity is consistent with the simulation results of the traditional FDTD method using fine mesh and the commercial CST software. Compared with the traditional FDTD method, the speedup of the equivalent algorithm is 113.52, and the memory occupation is 11.17%. Also, compared with the CST method, the speedup of the equivalent algorithm is 9.36, and the memory occupation is 29.85%.
