A high-gain current mirror operational amplifier utilizing gain-boosting technology

A novel high-gain current mirror (CM) operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) has been designed to address the low-gain issues inherent in traditional current mirror OTA (CM OTA). The proposed operational amplifier employs a current-reuse (CR) architecture combined with a Gain-boosting (GB) technique, effectively improving both transconductance (Gm) and output resistor (Rout) without increasing the static power consumption or compromising stability. Circuit modeling and simulation have been conducted using the Cadence software based on a 0.18 μm CMOS process. Simulation results demonstrate that, under a supply voltage of 1.2 V and a load capacitance of 10 pF, the proposed OTA exhibits a direct current gain enhancement of 93 dB and 57 dB when compared to CM OTA and CR current mirror OTA (CR-CM OTA), respectively
