Analysis and signal-to-noise ratio estimation of radiation source signals received by the missile-borne countermeasure system

To ensure the penetration and survival capabilities of missiles in complex battlefield environments, and to better achieve the feature extraction and signal selection of radiation sources by the missile-borne countermeasure system, this paper carries out research on the analysis and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation of radiation source signals received by the missile-borne countermeasure system. Firstly, the characteristic analysis of typical radiation source emission signals and noise signals introduced by the missile-borne countermeasure system during the reception process are carried out, and the characteristics of radiation source signals received by the countermeasure system and the types of noise are determined. Secondly, through the proposed energy criterion, the energy of radiation source signals and noise is determined from an energy perspective. Finally, a signal-to-noise ratio estimation algorithm for radiation source signals based on improved VMD is proposed using the definition method of signal-to-noise ratio, and research on signal-tonoise ratio estimation algorithms for noisy radiation source signals is carried out. Simulation results show that the absolute error of signal-to-noise ratio estimation of LFM modulated signals under different noises using the improved VMD-based radiation source signal signal-to-noise ratio estimation algorithm corrected by the average value of noise energy is less than 3dB. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the algorithm and provide data support for further research on noise reduction and radar signal selection in missile-borne countermeasure systems.
