A INFLUÊNCIA DO CALÇADO ESPORTIVO NA PREVENÇÃO DE LESÕES EM PRATICANTES DE CORRIDA: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA
Running is an accessible sport that is valued for its health and well-being benefits. However, it is often associated with a high number of musculoskeletal injuries, especially when appropriate sports footwear is not selected. The aim of this study was to analyze, through an integrative review, how sports footwear influences injury prevention in runners, considering aspects such as comfort, type of tread, body mass index, and ground impact. Articles published between 2019 and 2024 in the following databases were reviewed: PubMed, SciELO, and BVS, using words related to running, injuries, and footwear. The review of the articles showed that motion-controlled shoes can help prevent pronation-related injuries, while minimalist and bionic footwear, when used correctly, can improve muscle activation and performance. On the other hand, shoes that are not appropriate or that are excessively rigid can increase the risk of injuries, especially among lighter runners. Therefore, it is essential that the choice of footwear follows the guidelines of experts to ensure safety, avoid injuries and optimize running performance.
