The new genus Turgaphilus of the subfamily Xenoscelinae (Coleoptera: Erotylidae) from the Lower Cretaceous of Eastern Siberia
The genus Turgaphilus Lyubarsky et Perkovsky, gen. nov. with the type species “Cryptophagites” capitatus Ponomarenko, 1990 is described from the latest Barremian–earliest Aptian Turga Formation, Transbaikalia. The new genus similar to the extant genus Xenoscelis Wollaston, 1864 but differs from it in pronotum strongly narrowed apically and procoxal cavities open externally. “Cryptophagites” elongatus Ponomarenko, 1990 probably belongs to the family Helotidae.
