Gain analysis of the configuration of energy storage for basin hydro-wind-photovoltaic integrated energy base
Basin hydro-wind-photovoltaic (PV) integrated energy base represents a crucial pathway for the large-scale development and utilization of new energy in China, how to enhance the new energy access capacity of the basin through the configuration of energy storage is an urgent problem to be solved. This paper proposes a gain analysis method for configuring energy storage in basin hydro-wind-PV integrated energy bases. Firstly, a capacity planning model for the integrated hydro-wind-PV-storage system is established, embedded with an 8760-hour complementary operation simulation, which is efficiently solved through convex linearization techniques. Secondly, the basin's new energy integration capacity and 8760-hour operation simulation process before and after deploying different types of energy storage are calculated. Finally, a benefit evaluation index for configuring energy storage is proposed, taking into account both investment costs and power generation benefits, to quantify and compare the gain effects of different storage schemes and determine the optimal scheme. Taking an under-construction basin hydro-wind-PV integrated energy base in southwestern China as an example of application. The results reveal that (1) The configuration of different types of energy storage can improve the new energy access capacity and system power generation in the basin. (2) Compared with long-time energy storage technology, it is more appropriate to configure short-time energy storage for basin hydro-wind-PV integrated energy base, among which the best benefit evaluation index can be obtained by configuring lithium-ion battery energy storage.
