Research on grounding fault location methods for DC systems in substations
The DC system stands as a pivotal component within substations, with its stability profoundly influencing the operational status of the substation. Ground faults within the DC system can precipitate severe issues, such as malfunction of protective devices and widespread power outages, leading to substantial losses and negative repercussions. Consequently, this paper introduces a hybrid method combining enhanced DC detection with an AC injection technique. This approach markedly improves the efficiency of locating ground faults within the DC system, diminishes the risk of misoperation and rejection of protections due to DC system grounding, and offers significant economic and social benefits.
