Thermal management of high-power electronics using swirl jet liquid cooling devices
This study introduces an innovative liquid cooling device using swirl jets for efficient cooling of high-power electronic devices. A swirl nozzle with four swirl angles (0°, 30°, 45°, and 60°) was designed and systematically compared with a conventional circular nozzle. The results show that swirling nozzles effectively increase turbulence through vortex motion, with the 60° nozzle providing the best overall performance, achieving a 10.61% improvement over the non-swirling nozzle. In addition, jet spacing (Yn/d) has a significant effect on cooling performance; as the spacing increases, the impact force decreases, resulting in lower heat exchange efficiency.
