Integration Method Based on the Removal Effects of Criteria Weighting and MOORA Method: Wi-Fi Router Selection Case Study

The selection of a Wi-Fi router can be challenging due to various factors that need to be considered to ensure the device meets the specific needs of the user. One of the main problems is determining signal coverage, especially in homes or offices with many rooms or thick walls that can hinder Wi-Fi signal transmission. In addition, the internet speed supported by the router needs to match the speed of internet services provided by the ISP (Internet Service Provider) so that bottlenecks do not occur. The main objective of this study is to develop a holistic and effective approach in evaluating Wi-Fi router alternatives based on various relevant criteria. By integrating MEREC to determine the optimal weight of criteria and MOORA to conduct multi-criteria evaluations, this study provides a strong and objective framework to support better and more informed decision making in the context of Wi-Fi router selection. Integration the MEREC and MOORA Methods for decision making, it can be concluded that this approach provides a robust and structured framework for evaluating and selecting the best solution from a variety of alternatives. The MEREC method ensures objective weighting of criteria by eliminating subjective bias, while MOORA provides a comprehensive evaluation of alternatives based on weighted criteria. The integration of these two methods allows for the use of more accurate and comprehensive information in the decision-making process, thereby minimizing errors and increasing the accuracy and objectivity of the resulting recommendations. The integration of MEREC and MOORA can be a very useful tool in the context of multi-criteria decision making in different fields of application. The results of the Wi-Fi router selection recommendation show the results of rank 1 with the router name TL-WR845N, rank 2 with the router name TL-WR844N, rank 3 with TL-WR840N.
