Unraveling the Impact of Digital Mastery on Innovative Work Behavior in Indonesia's Electronics Manufacturing Sector
This study examines the effect of digital mastery on innovative work behavior (IWB) in Indonesia's electronics manufacturing sector, focusing on digital communication, content creation, and strategic digital skills. Using data from 261 employees across six companies, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was applied to assess the relationships between digital skills and the three IWB dimensions: idea generation, processing, and implementation. The results indicate that digital communication skills significantly enhance idea generation <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">${(\beta}= {0.165},\ \mathrm{p}={0.023)}$</tex>, processing <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">${(\beta}= {0.310},\ \mathrm{p} < {0.001)}$</tex>, and implementation <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">${(\beta}{=0.174},\ \mathrm{p}{=0.003)}$</tex>. Strategic digital skills also show a strong positive impact, particularly on idea implementation <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">${(\beta}={0.379},\ \mathrm{p} < {0.001)}$</tex>. Conversely, content creation skills have a limited effect on idea generation <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">${(\beta}=\ _{-} {0.030,}\ \mathrm{p}= {0.337)}$</tex>. These findings highlight the need for organizations to emphasize digital communication and strategic skills to foster innovation. Future research should examine digital mastery among senior employees and consider digital infrastructure availability to further understand its influence on innovation.
