A Systematic Literature Review for IoT-Based Cage Cleaning Automation
This review examines the increasing use of enclosed bird cages and the need for effective cleaning solutions in these environments. To ensure both avian health and human well-being, effective waste management solutions are necessary. Through a comprehensive, layered study of existing methods, the author identifies a lack of development in the automated cleaning features of smart bird cage IoT systems. Inspired by recent advancements in automated cleaning systems for livestock enclosures and solar panels, the author proposes an innovative solution to address this gap. The proposed system integrates internet-connected devices (IoT), leveraging sensor technology and actuators to automate the cleaning process while monitoring ammonia levels in bird droppings. This study outlines the conceptual design of the system, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize bird-keeping practices by promoting optimal hygiene, enhancing avian health and welfare, and mitigating environmental risks associated with bird droppings. By systematically reviewing existing methods and introducing novel ideas, this research contributes to the advancement of automated waste management in bird cages. The author concludes that the literature is sufficient to support future developments in integrating IoT with bird care.
