Measuring the Level of Instagram Influencers’ Awareness of Hacking Crimes Using Phishing Methods (Case Study: RKB Influencer Agency)
Instagram celebrities, commonly known as “Selebgram,” are individuals or Instagram users who have built a great reputation and have many followers on the Instagram platform. However, cybercrime is rapidly developing and continues to pose a serious threat to Selebgram. Phishing is one of the most frequently occurring hacking methods. Lack of education and experience makes Selebgram easy targets for cybercriminals. The main purpose of this research is to assess the level of awareness of Selebgram and to raise awareness about the dangers of phishing links. The research method used involves creating a fake phishing website that is disseminated using Punycode algorithms and unique codes. Afterwards, an outreach program related to the use of VirusTotal, a tool that can help Selebgram avoid phishing links, was conducted. Phishing link dissemination was carried out twice: first before the outreach, resulting in a moderate awareness classification with a percentage of 41%, and second after the outreach, with a decrease in awareness by 5.376%. The impact of this research was measured through a questionnaire that showed a material impact of 54.6% and a non-material impact of 29.7%. The proposed solution from this research is to conduct effective outreach to increase Selebgram awareness.
