Implementations of the Entropy and Complex Proportional Assessment Methods in Determining the Best Independent Student Exchange

Independent student exchange is an educational initiative program that provides opportunities for students to participate in academic activities at other universities, both at home and abroad, with the aim of broadening horizons, improving academic competence, and developing interpersonal and cultural skills. Problems in selecting the best independent exchange students often involve various challenges, moreover, subjective judgments from the jury or selection committee can cause injustice. The purpose of this study determining the selection of independent student exchanges by applying a combination of entropy and Complex Proportional Assessment (COPRAS) methods, so as to identify alternatives in student exchange programs that make a high positive contribution to program objectives, while taking into account the level of data uncertainty. This study also aims to provide recommendations that can be used as a guide in decision making related to student exchange programs. The ranking results showed that the 1st rank for the independent student exchange selection was obtained by Student B with a score of 100, the 2nd rank for the independent student exchange selection was obtained by Student D with a score of 99.292, and the 3rd rank for the independent student exchange selection was obtained by Student F with a score of 97.399. The results of the RSME score test showed that the deviation between the Final Value Utility scores of each student with an average of 1.664 showed that the variation between the scores was not too large and this result could be trusted in advanced analysis or data-driven decision-making.
