Tracing Employment Pathways: A Study on the Career Dynamics of Bachelor of Science in Electro-Mechanical Technology Graduates from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines

The study intended to determine the economic position of the graduates of Bachelor of Science in Electromechanical Technology spanning from SY 2019-2020, SY 2020-2021, and SY 2021-2022 to establish graduate traceability in consonance with the pertinent provisions of the Higher Education Act of the Philippines particularly the mandate to produce quality and relevant graduates of higher learning. The study is the first attempt to track down the graduates since its pioneering batch who graduated in SY 2007-2008. Although there was information on the occupational placement of graduates in various industries, there was no compelling evidence documenting their wide range of employability. The study was conducted using Google Forms, equipped with a survey questionnaire that assesses the graduates’ employment dynamics and current economic position. The survey was floated via social media through which the individual graduates were reached out to provide relevant information relative to their employment patterns and workplace dynamics. The study yielded information on the occupational placement of the graduates, capturing their respective industry placement, job description, years of service, salary range, and graduate attribute utilities. Descriptive statistics were utilized to measure the corresponding frequencies and mean responses, validating the viability and relevance of the program in terms of practiced skill set and work ethics.
