As an important way to cope with the challenges of aging, the sustainable development of mutual care services in urban communities has received widespread attention. Based on the social capital theory, this paper finds that there are multiple dilemmas in the establishment of social trust, the implementation of reciprocity norms and the construction of relationship networks in the current urban community mutual care services, which seriously constrains the sustainable development of mutual care services. To address these problems, this paper proposes to promote the establishment of social trust, the improvement of reciprocity norms and the optimization of relationship networks by organizing community activities, building an information interaction platform, setting up a professional supervisory body, setting up a norm revision group, and increasing the construction of infrastructures, in order to provide a solid foundation for the sustainable development of mutual aid elderly care services in urban communities.
