Exploring the Application of Nonviolent Communication in the Psychological Crisis Intervention for College Students
Psychological crisis intervention for college students is a key part of college education, and its core goal is to help college students find the balance of their psychological state so as to avoid the aggravation of the crisis. However, traditional intervention strategies are often ineffective due to stiff communication and lack of empathy. As a means of compassion-based communication, nonviolent communication emphasizes the establishment of emotional connections through the four core elements of “observation, feeling, need, and request”, so as to improve the communication effect. This paper makes an in-depth analysis of the manifestations, causes and existing problems of college students’ psychological crisis, discusses the importance of nonviolent communication in psychological crisis intervention, and elaborates its application in practice through case studies, aiming to provide a new perspective and practical reference for psychological crisis intervention in higher education schools.
