Integrated course of studying literature (ukrainian and foreign) in the context of globalization and postcolonialism: opportunities and risks

Despite the principle of unity in diversity, globalization as an all-encompassing and all-encompassing phenomenon of modern times poses a considerable challenge for the culture of countries, Ukraine in particular, and sub-colonial nations in general. The new era dictates new approaches, and the best solution in the conditions of globalization movements is to invent optimal algorithms for the cultural strengthening of the nation in the global plane. One of such algorithms is the concept of the course of integrated study of Ukrainian and world literature. The purpose of the article is to outline the main advantages and dangers associated with the implementation of an integrated course in the study of literature (Ukrainian, foreign) in the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, as opposed to the traditional distribution of the study of authors' verbal creativity within two separate courses: Ukrainian and foreign literature. Current model programs for the 7th grade of NUS, authored by O. Nikolenko and others, were chosen as illustrative material for this study. and T. Yatsenko and others. The article at the a priori level analyzes the methodological contexts of the introduction of an integrated course of literature (Ukrainian, foreign), which makes it possible, in addition to the advantages of such a course, to identify a number of threats that primarily put Ukrainian literature in a position of danger. The task of all participating parties during the implementation of an integrated course of literature is to maximize the benefits and minimize possible risks within the framework of working with students of special educational institutions. As a result of the realization of the purpose of the research, such advantages of the integrated course of literature were revealed as: expansion of the optics of analysis of cultural, in particular literary, phenomena; critical rethinking of the colonial experience, working out and therapy of the complexes of the "small nation"; taking advantage of globalization and transnational cultural ties; intercultural dialogue on a parity basis, but with an understanding of national specificity. At the same time, there are potential risks such as: the danger of cultural creolization, the ambiguity of postcolonialism, the risk of identification, the risk of eclecticism in the selection of texts, the risk of superficial study. Emphasis on the benefits of integration and methodical work on risk prevention will make it possible to adequately move in the direction of globalization with minimal negative consequences for the cultural identity of Ukrainian literature and the literature-centric national idea.
