Formation of cultural competence of education acquisitioners through museum education

The article discusses the feasibility of using learning in a museum environment from the point of view of a competence-based approach (in particular, the formation of cultural competence) on the example of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague (Czech Republic). It is emphasised that the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education and the requirements of the New Ukrainian School draw attention to the formation of basic competences, including cultural competence. Cultural awareness means knowledge of local, national and European cultural heritage and its place in the world. It is emphasised that information in the field of culture implies knowledge of regional, national and European cultural heritage: knowledge of outstanding cultural works, contemporary culture, and the formation of a desire to preserve it. The possibilities of cultural and competence-based approaches to learning in the museum environment are revealed on the example of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. It is emphasised that aesthetic factors are important in everyday life, and that children should be able to express their appreciation of works of art and performances, and express themselves using their natural abilities. It is important for students to be able to relate their creative and expressive views to those of others, to be able to identify and understand social and economic opportunities in cultural activities. The creative expression of a student's personality can be widely used in professional activities in the future. It is noted that it is expedient and practical to create new concepts of museum education, the emergence of children's interactive museums in our country based on the model of those available abroad. The priority role in museum education should be given to modern teaching technologies that stimulate creativity, initiative, independent and critical thinking, and are based on different approaches to learning.
