Empirical Study on the Influencing Factors of Value Maintenance Rate of New Energy Vehicles
With the rapid development of the new energy vehicle (NEV) market, the issue of value maintenance rate has attracted increasingly more attention from consumers and the industry. Although NEVs are not a new concept, when the electrification trend returns, it creates a stir. Given the continuously growing NEV parc, the depreciation of used electric cars has become a problem of great concern in the market. Beginning with the theory of used car loss and depreciation, the paper combines factors such as battery, technology iteration, policy, brand, etc. to examine and address the problem of why used electric vehicles depreciate in value. Meanwhile, it predicts the circumstances under which used electric cars may stably maintain their values in some period. With the further development and stabilization of NEV technologies and the gradual increase of NEV parc, the challenge of rapid depreciation of used new energy vehicles will be considerably alleviated.
